There are protein bars you need to drink after eating it. And this Women’s best bar is like that. It does the job, but it’s not the tastiest one. Or even good enough.
This relationship didn’t start well. The first Women’s Best protein bar I reviewed, Chocolate Hazelnut, turned out to be… Well, not too exciting, to put it mildly. However, as they say, never give up. So I’ve made another approach to this range and it wasn’t much better either. Oops, it happens. And this is what happened to me while reviewing this Women’s Best Protein Bar 34% Protein Strawberry Crunch flavour bar.
It’s nothing surprising, but the first impression was not that bad. This protein bar smells pretty nice. There’s an effortlessly detectable Strawberry flavour in this bar. Yes, it could be slightly more intense, but it’s still inviting. A pretty toughish on the outside, this protein bar is somewhat softish on the inside. It doesn’t mean it’s easy to bite into it, but it’s nothing you should worry about much. Anyway, this bar is not too dry, but it won’t be a bad choice to have a sip while eating it.
It’s not the tastiest Strawberry flavour I know.
I really like to have tasty protein anything. And I’m afraid this protein bar won’t land among them (is it because I’m not a woman? Or because there is a tastier bar from this range out there?). It seems to be not a bad crunchy bar at the beginning, as there is pretty OK Strawberry flavour with a bit of sourish bit detectable. However, the more you eat it, the more of acidity and bitterness you experience. It’s not that terrible after all, but it doesn’t have anything in common with a tasty, sweet or satisfying protein bar.
Do I want another serving of this Women’s Best protein bar after the first one? Not actually. It was pretty far from being anything pleasant and it’s not what I’m looking for in protein bars.
As this protein bar is not too tasty, it has not bad macros for a change. A 44g bar has only 155 kcal, 6.1g of fat, just 4.9g of carbs (including 1.95g of sugar) and 15g of protein. And as much as 11.9g of fibre. Not bad. The ingredients list, however, contains palm fat.
Palm fat on the ingredients list means it’s not the finest protein bar on the go.
It’s not the best protein bar out there. No matter it’s Women’s Best or Men’s Best.
Woman’s Best Protein Bar 34% Protein Strawberry Crunch flavour is not the best protein bar out there. It smells pretty nice, but its taste ruins it all. It has excellent macros, but its ingredients could be better. It’s somewhat easy to eat, but it’s better to have a sip now and then while eating it. Am I the only one that thinks it’s not the best recipe for success?
Will I ever go back to this protein bar? Definitely not. And although it’s not that terrible after all, I wouldn’t spend my money on it again.
