They didn’t get this flavour wrong! Chocolate orange is a winning flavour and Tom Oliver has definitely made sure they got this flavour right!
This is my first meet with Tom Oliver protein bar and I am definitely off to a winning start! I’ve been looking forward to trying one of these bars, as they look appealing and they’re vegan. As veganism is becoming more popular, I think it’s great that companies are jumping to this and meeting customer needs. I haven’t tried many vegan protein bars so far, but this one has made me want to try more!
Hello, chocolate orange! There is no mistaking this smell! They have this worked out perfectly and it definitely leaves you wanting more! Yes, the outside of this bar is really firm and could be used as a weapon, but this all changes on the inside. Although the texture is the same on the inside, when this is in your mouth, it totally changes. It moulds to your mouth and becomes delicious and creamy. Even though this bar is chocolate orange flavour, I wouldn’t go as far as saying it’s sickly, maybe it’s the texture which stops is being too much, but it’s undoubtedly not dry to consume once in your mouth.
Generously scattered orange peel adds a charming texture contrast!
Sometimes chocolate orange can be overpowering and entirely artificial. Yet, this Tom Oliver Vegan Chocolate Orange protein bar is anything but that! Although it may seem dry on the outside, it’s anything but this once in your mouth! Somehow the texture of this bar changes completely and it becomes a lovely, melty, silky smooth texture. Not too sweet, yet not bland! I’m drooling as I write this! This bar is unquestionably comfortable to eat as there is no bitter or artificial flavouring.
I would be able to consume another Tom Oliver Vegan Chocolate Orange protein bar after this one, as it was perfectly balanced and not overpowering in any way!
For a vegan protein bar, I do think these macros are really good, considering the amount of protein in this bar is similar to amounts in regular protein bars! A slightly smaller than average, this 55g Tom Oliver protein bar contains 192kcal, 6.7g fat, 21g carbs (including 2.5g sugars) and 14g protein. I know the protein is quite small, but a lot of bars also contain 10-15g of it and they aren’t vegan! Also, check out how low their sugar is, brownie points for this! However, let’s moan that their ingredients aren’t up to scratch, as it contains added sugars and glucose-fructose syrup!
A delicious vegan protein bar which tastes as it should! I’ll have another, please!
This Tom Oliver Vegan Chocolate Orange protein bar definitely took me by surprise. After smelling this bar, I had high hopes, yet I wasn’t that confident it would be great based on its outer firmness. Yet, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how good this bar is! It’s creamy, rich, sweet and chocolatey. All without having any form of bitter or artificial taste. I deem that a success!
Would I eat this Tom Oliver Vegan Chocolate Orange protein bar again? Yes, I absolutely would!
