In theory, it’s a delicious protein bar suitable for vegan. In practice, its taste was ruined by some kind of acidity aroma. Have you ever had anything like that in a cocoa brownie dessert?
From high to low. From a delectable Double Espresso flavour to this not-so-yummy Cocoa Brownie flavour. That means one thing – this range is as changing as the weather in the UK. Hence, you need to be pretty picky to find a decently good taste in this range. And this The Primal Pantry Cocoa Brownie Protein Bar is a proof for my theory. In short, you won’t find cocoa brownie flavour rapture in this protein bar.
The very first impression of this plant protein bar is nothing you’d want to remember for long. This snack has an easily detectable acidulous smell. All right, some may say there’s a touch of chocolate flavour too, but it won’t make amends of not too good first impression. Particularly, this bar is not too inviting. A really tough on the outside, this snack is softish on the inside. Therefore, it’s not too troublesome to bite into it and the texture experience of it is pretty OK-ish. Especially, it’s barely chewy and just slightly sticky. And it has a pretty good moist.
A luscious cocoa brownie protein bar. With an awful acid aroma.
It goes like that: the very first bite of this protein bar is delicious. At least for the first one or three seconds. During that time, your taste buddies might be in heaven. And then, they’re brutally pulled down to the ground with an doubtedly helpful sourish aroma. An aroma that ruins it all, including the sweetness of this protein bar. The bar itself is just sweetish, but not sweet. And considering that naughty acidity in its flavour, it’s definitely not a satisfying one.
Am I fancy another serving of this The Primal Pantry plant protein bar right after the first one? Not at all. It wasn’t bad for sure, bad that acidulous aroma ruined the overall experience.
Also, there’s nothing much to talk regarding the macros of this protein bar. A 55g bar has 199 kcal, 4.3g of fat, 24g of carbs (of which 21g of naturally occurring sugar) and an OK-ish 15g of protein. The ingredients list looks much better, though, as there is just a few and only natural ingredients.
Beauty and the Beast.
This is the exact situation with this The Primal Pantry Cocoa Brownie Protein Bar. Besides other aspects, it has a beautiful and exciting flavour. However, for some reason, it was blended with an acidulous aroma that ruins the experience completely. Therefore, this protein bar is not worth much if you’re all about the flavour. A flavour of cocoa brownie you won’t find here, unfortunately.
Will I ever go back to this The Primal Pantry protein bar? I will not. And the false taste of Cocoa Brownie in it is the main reason for that.
