This is another CLIF BAR that wants to ‘fuel your adventure’. However, with its thickness, I’m afraid it could be your last adventure. Because energy bars should be comfortable to eat. And this one is not.
While ‘doing’ adventures, there are situations you need some extra energy. And energy bars are more than suitable for that purpose, right? They’re, or at least they’re supposed to be, tasty, sweet and effortless to eat. And the last thing you’d expect here is to struggle with them. However, if you choose this CLIF BAR Chocolate Almond Fudge, it may end up like this, in not too effortless way.
When it comes to the scent of this CLIF BAR, there’s nothing to talk about. There’s a bit of chocolate and almonds aroma, but they could be much more intense indeed. Therefore, it’s not too inviting, but it doesn’t discourage either. However, its hardness both on the outside and inside is confusing a bit. It’s pretty tough and not too comfortable to eat. Especially when you’re exhausted and need some extra energy (and air
If you pay attention to the taste when you’re tired, then this bar is just OK.
There are chocolate and almonds aromas here, but they lack its intensity. They both are pretty good balanced, but there’s a slightly bitterish aroma too. The latter may be caused by almonds, which is 4% here. Overall, it’s not too bad, but it could be much tastier and more comfortable to eat.
Do I want another serving of this CLIF BAR after the first one? Not actually. It’s not that bad, however, considering its ‘ease’ of eating, I would feed my adventure with something else.
Macro-wise thing is not the best here either. A 68g bar has a largish 268 kcal, 6.1g of fat, 43g of carbs and 9.7g of protein. And again, it’s a bit too much fat and protein for an energy bar. The ingredients list looks pretty nice, as there’s no palm fat in it.
Can it be the finest energy bar on the go? I don’t think so, due to the reasons above.
Feed your adventure. Hopefully not for the last time.
CLIF BAR Chocolate Almond Fudge energy bar is not that bad as a bar. But if I went for adventure, I wouldn’t risk using it. It’s not comfortable to eat, it’s only OK when it comes to its taste and its macros are so-so. There are other, much more comfortable or at least tastier energy bars out there, like Veloforte FORZA Re-fuel. And I would rather go for this one instead.
Will I ever go back to this energy bar? There are no chances for that. And there are many reasons for that. And the other snack with Choc Fudge flavour are not better than that too.
