Does ‘R’ in the name of this bars stands for ‘restrain’? Because it’s another bar from this range I wouldn’t buy voluntarily. Despite having decently good macros. Well…

I’m not the greatest fan of this range. Why? Because they managed to ruin a beautiful flavour of Cherry Bakewell. And they did the same with White Choc Raspberry Ripple one. Well… But hey, it looks like it’s how they do their protein bars – great macros, pretty good ingredients and nothing more. And it reflects our final score. Anyway, let’s see if Reflex Nutrition RBar Double Choc Brownie Flavour Protein Bar will do much better then the other flavours from this range we reviewed so far.

Double Choc Brownie smell? Nice try. You won’t find anything like that here. Instead of that, there’s a slight touch of chocolate whiff in it and that’s it. Not much brownie at all. Still, it’s not too bad, but I wouldn’t call it an inviting one. A really tough on the outside, this bar is somewhat softish on the inside. It’s not effortless to bite into, but it’s not that bad in this matter either. A middling chewy and sticky bar is slightly dryish. But again, it’s not a tragedy here.

This is not double choc brownie flavour. At least not the one you’d dream about day and night.

Oh, well. The taste of this protein bar is sweetish. And that’s pretty OK. However, not much OK is there’s also a weird bitterish aroma in it. It’s not that strong, but it’s there. Also, there’s a bit of brownie aroma too, but it’s not too flavourish, not too strong. And not overly palatable. As a result of it, this RBAR is not that terrible, but I’m pretty far from calling it a tasty one. Therefore, it’s not a satisfying one too.

Do I want another serving of this RBAR Double Choc Brownie flavour right after the first one? Not much. It wasn’t bad, either terrible.

RBAR Double Choc Brownie Flavour Protein Bar

A quick look at macros says it all – they’re really solid. A 60g bar has 207 kcal, 9g of fat, only 9g of carbs (1.2g of sugar) and a good 20g of protein. And 10g of fibre. Not too bad. Also, the ingredients list is not too short, but it doesn’t contain added sugar, palm fat or syrups. Nice.

A pretty nice in theory, not too inviting in practice.

RBAR Double Choc Brownie Flavour Protein Bar

Reflex Nutrition RBar Double Choc Brownie Flavour Protein Bar seems to be an exciting protein bar. Eventually, double choc brownie flavour is something that might catch your attention. However, except really good macros and good ingredients, there’s nothing that could stop me (and most likely you as well) from skipping it. It lacks good taste and it could be a bit more comfortable to eat. And these are my major flaws in this bar.

Will I ever go back to this RBAR protein bar? I will NOT. It’s not too tasty and not overly comfortable to eat. And these are two main reasons why I say ‘neeext!’.

P.S. If I ever wanted a chocolate brownie protein bar, I’d definitely go for this one.
