This is a protein cookie I’ve been waiting for a while. It’s delicious, not too sweet and it has an OK-ish macro. Yes, it could have better ingredients. But hey, you shouldn’t eat more than two of them at once.
There are not too many QUEST protein cookies we’ve reviewed so far. And I apologise for that. However, two of them that went through our hands scored overall not too bad. Oatmeal Raisin flavour scored overall a really good 7.0/10 pts., while Snickerdoodle flavour landed a bit lower, but not too bad, at 6.4/10 pts. Now, it’s time for another cookie from this lineup, QUEST Protein Cookie Double Chocolate Flavour. And, surprisingly, it’s much better than I expected.
The smell. This is one of the strongest points of this protein cookie. It’s nice and pleasant, with strong chocolate aroma easily detectable. I’m not too sure I was able to distinguish both chocolate aromas, but its fragrance was lovely indeed – a pretty close to a brownie. Also, I couldn’t say anything wrong about its texture. This protein cookie is charmingly soft throughout, so there’s no problem with either biting into it or eating. Also, the cookie is slightly and nicely chewy and just a bit chewy. Its moistness is really good, too. So this is what a protein cookie texture should look like in every cookie. Well done, QUEST.
And this is not the only aspects I loved in this cookie, as its flavour is on the spot, too!
Get ready for a lovely taste of chocolate and chocolate chips. They’re delightful, lovely and not too strong, rather middling strong. And that’s OK. Also, this QUEST protein cookie is middling sweet, so there’s no option to get oversweet with it. More than that, there’s no weird aroma or aftertaste in it. And although I’d want it to be just a bit sweeter, I’m OK with what it’s like and I can say it will make its way as a sweet and satisfying protein cookie.
Would I want to have another QUEST Double Chocolate protein cookie right after the first one? I don’t say that too often, but in this case, I say I would. And the reason for that might be it’s not a big cookie, though.
At 50g (mine was 54g), it’s smaller than a 60g standard. Anyway, it packs 207kcal, a bit low 13g (26%) of protein and only 0.6g of sugar. Not too bad macros overall. However, the ingredients list could be much better, as it contains palm oil.
It’s a decently good and delicious protein cookie.
And although it only contains 13g of protein, it’s still worth your attention. It’s decently comfortable to eat, it tastes lovely and it still has not that bad macros. Also, it could be a bit bigger than it is. And yes, I would improve this cookie here and there, but considering its overall, it’s one of the best, if not the best, protein cookie out there.
Would I buy it again? Definitely, I would. And I will.
