This tiny protein bar is supposed to be a great snack for those dieting. And looking at its macros, I can agree with that. However, I can’t entirely agree it’s suitable for them due to its flavour. At least as long as they’re OK with alcohol-like aroma. I am not.
Prozis is with us for a while and it has a really wide range of protein snacks. We had a couple of them a while ago. Now, it’s time to come back for more of them. The first one we’ll have a look at is their diet bar. Specifically, Prozis Diet Diet Bar White Chocolate & Raspberry Flavour. Is it a worthwhile option for them? Let’s find it out.
When I imagine a great protein bar, I always think from the beginning. I mean, from the smell it welcomes me right after unwrapping it. And judging only by this, it’s not going to be anything like that. There’s a barely detectable theme aroma of the white chocolate and raspberry, a classic and so delicious flavour. For me, it should be much more intense to make me ‘WOW!’. Still, it’s OK-ish and somewhat neutral. The texture of this protein bar is not the best. It’s noticeably toughish on the outside, making it not too comfortable to bite into it. It’s getting a bit better afterwards, but it’s still middling chewy and sticky. Also, it could be a bit moister, but this specific thing is not a major issue here. In short, there’s some room for improvement in the matter of texture, here.
This bar lacks its flavour and its intensity.
Instead of exciting white chocolate and raspberry flavour, you get a sourish aroma with the very first bite. And then, after a moment, you realise it’s a raspberry flavour. Sort of. There’s not much of white chocolate in this protein bar as well. That means these flavour should be better balanced. Also, get ready for a detectable aroma of polyols (or sugar alcohols), making this diet bar not too flavourish or exciting. The bar itself is middling sweet, the most. And that sweetness is not too pleasant, leaving alcohol-like aftertaste in your mouth. Hence, it’s not satisfying at all.
This protein bar from Prozis it’s not repelling for sure. But I would not want to have another one right after the first one.
When it comes to macros, it’s interesting. Although the bar is pretty small at 35g (diet, diet!), it has decent macros. Here are its numbers: 115kcal, 13.7g (39%) protein and only 1.2g of sugar. Also, it contains as much as 9.2g (26%) of fibre. Not too bad. Also, the ingredients list is free from added sugar, palm oil or syrups.
In theory, it’s a pretty nice diet bar. In practice, not everything went according to the plan, I’m afraid.
What I really liked in this
protein diet bar is its great macros and ingredients. And that’s it. I’d want it to be much more effortless to eat and have much better taste. And that’s it. Just two little things to improve to make this protein bar much, much better.
And these two
little major things are the reason I will not even think about buying it again.
