This is more like Chocolate and Orange Peel flavour protein cookie. It’s not bad as long as you delight in orange peel. Otherwise, it’s a bit bitterish snack. So eventually, it’s not a proper sweet snack.

There are many orange flavoured protein snacks on the market. Like Fulfil Chocolate Orange Flavour Vitamin & Protein Bar. This one, for example, tastes like a real orange (with chocolate) or even Jaffa Cakes. Not like an orange peel with chocolate. Therefore, I can’t see any reason to eat anything that tastes like an orange peel. Like this PhD Diet Cookie Chocolate Orange Flavour.

Anyway, this cookie smells lovely. There are both flavours, chocolate and orange, easily detectable. And both of them are intense and inviting. However, this cookie is really tough on the outside, being only slightly softish on the inside. Add to that its decent thickness and you’ll get a cookie that is not too effortless to eat. Also, it’s a bit dryish, so two or three sips may come in handy now and then while eating it. Well, this could be better. On a par with its taste.

The taste of this Chocolate Orange protein cookie is pretty disappointing.

Although there are chocolate and orange flavour easily noticeable, there is also a bit of bitterish orange peel. They say it’s ‘orange oil’ (0.3%), but it doesn’t matter at all. This cookie is somewhat sweet, but more than that it’s bitterish in taste. It’s not that tragic, but this cookie is far from being sweet and satisfying one. Therefore, I give it quite low score in the taste department (5.5/10 pts).

Do I want another serving of this PhD Diet Cookie after the first one? Not actually. Although this cookie weights only 50g, one of them is enough for me.

From the macros side of view, there’s nothing to be ashamed of. The cookie has only 199 kcal, a pretty low 4.6g of fat, not bad 16.8g of carbs (including only 3.2g of sugar) and a solid 22g od protein. The ingredients list, however, contains added sugar and palm oil.

As a result of that, this cookie can’t be the finest protein cookie on the go.

A protein cookie that could be a lovely one. But it’s too bitterish for that.

PhD Diet Cookie Chocolate Orange Flavour

PhD Diet Cookie Chocolate Orange Flavour could be a really good one. It combines classic chocolate and refreshing orange flavours. However, something went wrong here and it’s way too bitter. And too thick. And those ingredients aren’t quality ones. Therefore, well, it’s nothing special after all.

Will I ever go back to this protein cookie? I won’t. Although it has perfect macros, it’s not all about the numbers. And the other Diet Cookie from this range, Lemon & White Chocolate Flavour, doesn’t get it either.
