A pretty Outright protein bar with pretty classic flavours, chocolate chip and peanut butter. It’s decently sweet and somewhat tasty. And it has somewhat good ingredients. Is it perfect then?
This is the very first Outright protein bar in our reviews. And looking at its flavour, peanut butter and chocolate chip, I expected it to be a pretty spectacular one. And I got what I wanted. Sort of. This protein bar is not perfect, but some of its aspects are well worth your attention. This is Outright Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Protein Bar.
The very first impression of this protein bar is not a spectacular one. This protein snack doesn’t smell inviting. Its fragrance is more like a combination of oats and green protein aromas, although there is not a single gram of it among the ingredients. Strange. But this is what makes this protein bar not too inviting. Anyway, a pretty tough on the outside, this bar turns out to be nicely softish on the inside. Also, its moistness is pretty good, so no one should have any problem with biting into it. Also, eating it shouldn’t be much troublesome, despite being somewhat chewy and sticky. And crispy too.
A bit strange, but still sweet and tasty protein bar.
Once I tried this protein bar, I was a bit surprised. There is a peanut butter flavour easily detectable. And chocolate chips add a bit of sweetness here. And it seems to be pretty tempting. However, at the same time, this combination of flavours is somehow a bit bland, a bit empty. These flavours seem to be not too convinced what they want to do exactly – whether they should be extremely flavourish, or a bit lowkey. It’s a bit strange. The good thing is, however, this protein bar is decently sweet and it may be the key to win hearts of many. Therefore, I’d say it might be a satisfying one.
Do I want another serving of this Outright protein bar after the first one? I was pretty close to say so. However, what didn’t convince me was that lack of character in its flavour. Therefore, one serving is perfectly fine for me.
Let’s have a quick look at the macros of this protein bar. A 60g bar delivers a rather largish 270 kcal, 12g of fat, 26g of carbs (of which 17g of sugar) and an OK-ish 15g of protein. It’s not perfect. Neither is the ingredients list. It’s pretty modest in its details, as it says it contains ‘
That lack of details and macros are the main two reasons it can’t be the finest protein bar on the go.
A decently sweet and somewhat tasty bar. A good one for some.
This Outright Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Protein Bar is an interesting one. It doesn’t taste extraordinary, but there’s something interesting in its taste. And I was pretty close to say ‘I want more’. However, many may find it sweet, tasty and satisfying one. So it may be not so easy to stop after the entire serving of that.
Will I ever go back to this Outright protein bar? I don’t say no. And if one day I’ll find it on the shelf, chances are I’ll grab it.
P.S. Do you want to swap Chocolate Chip to White Chocolate and Cranberry in this bar? There’s an option for that.
