This protein bar has a detectable coffee flavour, but it doesn’t taste natural. I’m not sure I want to eat any more.
This is the second OLIMP protein bar which I have reviewed and I’m still not keen on this brand! 2/2 bars haven’t been anything special and for me, that doesn’t show positive signs about their other bars! Just like their Cherry Heaven bar, this wrapper is just as hard to get your head around and very difficult to pick out information easily!
I’m not a coffee drinker. However, I do enjoy coffee flavoured things and I do love the smell of fresh coffee. This bar started off well when I stuck my nose into it as it really does smell pleasantly of coffee. It’s quite obvious in its smell, but it’s also not too in your face with it either. Although this bar is quite firm on the outside, its texture is different on the inside and is actually soft and has a nice chewy texture which I rather enjoy. They’ve also added in a decent layer of crispy pieces under the chocolate coating which adds a nice crunch to this protein bar.
They’ve got the coffee smell perfect, but the taste all wrong!
It all started off really well and after smelling this bar I definitely was looking forward to diving straight in. However, this OLIMP Coffee Delight protein bar actually managed to taste really false in its coffee flavour. It’s almost as like it wasn’t real coffee and it was mimicked in an inferior way. I was left with a nasty, practically false coffee flavour in my mouth which tasted artificial and made me run for a glass of water! If the texture was to go by, this bar would be comfortable to eat. However, if we’re talking about taste, it’s definitely not!
I wouldn’t be able to eat another OLIMP Coffee Delight protein bar straight after this one. That coffee flavour had me wishing I never ate the whole bar in the first place!
With another confusing and jam-packed wrapper to search through you do eventually come across macros and ingredients! A decent 64g bar contains 236kcal, 11g fat, 19 carbs of which a tiny 2.1g sugar and a proper 20g protein. Add these decent macros to their decent ingredients and I’d say this is definitely the best element about the bar!
A nice coffee smell with a horrible coffee flavour. I’m not sure how they pulled that off?
This OLIMP Coffee Delight protein bar has a lovely coffee smell but is incredibly let down by the weird, false coffee flavour the bar packs. Not one bit of me enjoyed eating this bar and if I could go back in time and never eat this bar again, I wouldn’t feel I was missing out!
Would another OLIMP Coffee Delight protein bar pass my lips again? Nope! The smell was lovely and matched the label, but the taste… Well, that was something else!
