It’s never too much of Cookies & Cream anything. But if you wanted me to eat this flapjack once again, then it could be our last meet.
All right, just joking. But this flapjack and Battle Oats Protein Flapjack Cookies & Cream flavour prove my theory right. I mean, it’s damn difficult to make anything good in this taste. At least as long as it’s not Oreo biscuits. Anyway, another protein flapjack wants to be our alternative to sooo tasty, lovable and macro-stuffed Oreo biscuits. And again, it’s not as simple as that. And it’s not all about the taste only.
My other theory is it’s not that complicated to make anything that smells like Cookies & Cream. And here it is – this Oatein protein flapjack smells like Oreos. But the ones that were left outside the airtight container for a couple of days. In other words, it smells like wet Oreo cookies. Accidentally, I like that smell, but it may be not in everybody’s liking. Nevermind. This flapjack is pretty tough on the outside, but fortunately, it’s somewhat softish on the inside. Therefore, some may feel not too comfortable with the first bite of it. But it’s getting better afterwards, so it’s OK when it comes to chewing it. This slightly chewy protein treat sticks to the teeth a bit. But as it’s not too dry, it’s may be possible to eat it with just one sip.
This snack is sweet, but it’s not like Cookies & Cream. And it’s not satisfying.
I bet you know that feeling after eating an entire pack of Oreo biscuits, right? So there’s nothing you’ll find here. This protein flapjack has more like vanilla flavour. There are also white and dark chocolate chips. And ‘white chocolate flavour coating’. And that combination has a great potential to be extremely fulfilling and satisfying, but… it’s not. It’s bland. It lacks that original Cookies & Cream flavour. And it’s far from being anything like Cookies & Cream flavour. Too bad.
Do I want another serving after the first one? Not actually. It was not that bad, it was sweetish and it was thick. But this is not what I expect from Cookies & Cream-anything. Trust me, I ate more Oreo biscuits than you did pushups this year.
When it comes to macros, they’re just OK. And they look like that:
Serving size: 1 flapjack (75g)
Energy: 306 kcal
The ingredients list contain palm fat. And it’s nothing to be desirable in any sweet treats.
Therefore, no chance for a title of ‘finest protein flapjack on the go’.
This is nothing you’d want to eat.
Oatein Oats & Protein Flapjack Cookies & Cream Flavour is not-so-cookies-and-cream one. It may smell not bad for some (the ones that like wet Oreo biscuits), but it doesn’t taste like Oreo biscuits. And it has not that good macros. Therefore, if you skip it, then you won’t lose anything.
Will I ever go back to this protein flapjack? Not actually. And instead of that, I’d rather spend my macros on original Oreo biscuits. Or two packages of them (and then skip my lunch).
