Chocolate peanut flavoured protein flapjack with nearly no chocolate in it. Sounds flavourish. Not. But no worries, I won’t give up and review it for you. Here it is.

This Oatein Chocolate Peanut protein flapjack sits somewhere between other low sugar flapjacks from this range. Somewhere between not the tastiest Cookies and Cream flavour and pretty good one Cherry Bakewell flavour. However, I really miss Oatein flapjacks from the past, with a bit higher amount of sugar and much better taste. Anyway, let’s have a look at this one right now.

Oatein Flapjack Chocolate Peanut Low Sugar Protein Flapjack is not too aromatic. Or let me put it this way: there’s too much of peanut aroma in it as it’s really strong. And way too little, nearly none of chocolate one. Nevertheless, it’s not too bad and it’s inviting. Particularly, if you’re a peanut lover. A pretty softish flapjack is middling chewy and sticky. And just OK when it comes to its moistness. In a word, its texture is just OK.

Too much of peanut, way too little of chocolate.

And by ‘chocolate flavour’ I mean chocolate flavour. All of that, because the coating is made not from chocolate, but ‘chocolate flavour coating’. Anyway, it’s easily overcome by peanut flavour that (again!) seems to be way too strong and aromatic. Therefore, as peanuts are not too sweet, this flapjack is alike – not too sweet for sure, but still, it has a pretty pleasant flavour. Also, there’s no weird aroma or aftertaste. And you may like it, especially if you love peanuts. However, although I like peanuts too, it’s hard for me to call this flapjack a satisfying one.

Do I want another serving of this Oatein protein flapjack right after the first one? Not actually. It was pretty OK, decently (peanut) flavourish, but at the same time, it was not too sweet either satisfying.

Oatein Flapjack Chocolate Peanut Low Sugar Protein Flapjack

Macro wise, it’s pretty good. A 70g flapjack has a reasonable 246 kcal, 7.8g of fat, 32g of carbs (of which only 3.5g of sugar) and 18g of protein. Not too bad. However, the ingredients list contain palm oil and date syrup.

Therefore, it can’t be the finest protein flapjack on the go.

Pretty peanut flavourish, but missing chocolate badly.

Oatein Flapjack Chocolate Peanut Low Sugar Protein Flapjack

Oatein Flapjack Chocolate Peanut Low Sugar Protein Flapjack is not a lousy flapjack. It tastes pretty good, it’s comfortable to eat and it has nice macros. However, it could be much tastier and have better ingredients. Therefore…

I’m not sure I will go back to this protein flapjack in the future.
