Chewy, moist and hints of Cookies & Cream – it’s a shame it’s quite sickly to consume all at once.

This is the second, after Salty Peanut Caramel flavour, Nano Supps product I have tried (after having their chocolate pancakes in my cupboard for a while, I still haven’t tried them)! It’s safe to say I was excited to say the least – their another protein BAR! Maybe I’m not a massive fan of Cookies and Cream flavour, or perhaps I expected this bar tasting like Oreos, but this wasn’t for me.

Normally protein bars don’t have much of smell once you open the wrapper. This one was different. There is a definite cookie and cream smell about this bar, but I’m not sure I liked it. For me, it’s too overpowering, but less on the cookie side. It seems to be all cream with a hint of chocolate. Almost like you’ve shoved your head into a bowl of cream and it’s stuck in your nose for a while after! That being said I think their firmness of this bar is spot on. It’s soft, bends slightly as you squeeze it and due to it being moist it moulds around your mouth as you eat it.

It’s sickly sweet and smells too strong of cream and less like cookies – I think they went too wild with the cream.

As for weird aromas in this bar, I’m going to be confident and say there aren’t any. However, I do have a strong cookies and cream aftertaste left in my mouth and it doesn’t seem that natural, it’s a bit artificial in flavour and doesn’t taste that inviting. In the main description of this bar it mentioned added sweeteners, and to be honest, I think even if they didn’t mention them, you’d be able to taste them. This bar almost has that false taste about it due to it’s artificial sweetness. Unfortunately, the white chocolate doesn’t taste too much as it should either.

Cookies and cream isn’t my favourite flavour to choose. With that being said, I wouldn’t want another Nano Supps Cookies & Cream bar straight after this one. To be honest, I’m not sure I’d consume another one at all!

The macros in this bar are personally the best thing about it. A lovely 58g Näno Supps Cookies & Cream protein bar packs 198kcal, 5g fat, 20g carbs of which a tiny 1.6g sugars and a smashing 20g protein! These are some decent macros if I say so myself, but unfortunately, that’s the best I can give to this bar – along with their amazingly low sugar!

Onto the negatives, the fact is their ingredients list is super long. It also includes palm oil – again, another bar killing our environment. Not to mention the added Acesulfame K, which is most likely why for me this bar is way too sweet. I think they’ve just put too many sweet ingredients together and not bothered to try it before releasing it!

Too sweet and overpowering protein bar with a hint of cookies & cream. Maybe you’ll like it, and maybe you won’t? I didn’t!

Nano Supps A Protein Bar Cookies and Cream Flavour

For me, this Nano Supps Cookies & Cream protein bar started off positively, but the most I ate it, the worse it got! The artificial sweetness coming from this bar is way too much not to mention their cream flavour is too overpowering as well. They do have a subtle flavour of cookies throughout, but I’m not sure that’s going to save the bar. I think they need to go back to the drawing board for this one.

Would I come running to eat this Nano Supps Cookies & Cream protein bar again? Not unless they seriously turn down their sweetness levels. This bar wasn’t for me!
