If you google the definition of artificial, this bar will come up as your search result. I think that says it all…

This is the second MusclePharm protein bar I have reviewed and hopefully, it’s the last! So far 2/2 bars have been awful and I really don’t fancy a third! Don’t let looks sway your decision into buying this bar as I promise you, you’ll regret it! MP Crisp Marshmallow protein bar looks like a delicious cereal bar which will be moist, tasty and will leave you feeling satisfied. Instead, it’s the opposite and you’ll wish you had your money in your pocket to go and spend it on something which you’ll thoroughly enjoy instead!

MusclePharm Crisp 16g Protein Bar Marshmallow

This bar literally has no smell. It smells sweet, but that isn’t a flavour. If we’re talking about texture, it’s as tough as a brick and that texture doesn’t change too much in your mouth either. The crispies don’t form a nice chewy concoction in your mouth like a regular cereal bar and instead, they’re dry and leave you gasping for a glass of water!

If you fancy a sucralose overload, then this is the perfect bar for you!

I was hoping this MusclePharm Crisp Marshmallow protein bar would taste like it should do and be sweet, chewy, delicious and taste like marshmallows. But it’s far from it! There is definitely a sweetener overload and it’s one which stays with you throughout the whole bar! I did down a glass of water but guess what’s still in my mouth… you guessed it, SUCRALOSE! This MusclePharm Crisp Marshmallow protein bar is definitely not satisfying to eat and I may have gotten more satisfaction from throwing it into the bin. Maybe next time I’ll do that instead!

There is no chance I’d be able to eat another MusclePharm Crisp Marshmallow protein bar after this one. This one was enough of a challenge!

Looking at this bar, you’d think it is a regular size bar. However, it’s actually only a light 45g bar. In its defence, it doesn’t feel that small when you eat it. The macros are okay in this bar, but the ingredients speak other words! A 45g MP Crisp Marshmallow protein bar contains 170kcal, 5g fat, 17g carbs (of which 6g sugars) and 16g protein. They really aren’t in my good books with their ingredients, considering this bar contains added sugars and palm oil. They did decide to throw in natural flavours, but I’m feeling mean and I don’t want to award brownie points for this!

The only good thing about this bar is its low calories. But this still wouldn’t make me eat this bar again!

Given this is the second MusclePharm protein bar I have reviewed and it’s terrible just like their Peanut Butter protein bar, I really don’t have much hope for any of their other bars! I still have the taste of sucralose lining my mouth and I’m 500ml water down! If that’s not a reason to avoid this bar, I don’t know what is!

Would I eat another MusclePharm CRISP Marshmallow protein bar again? I don’t like the taste of sweeteners, so the answer is a firm, NO!
