Moose is big. Like this protein flapjack. Besides, it doesn’t even want to hide it. Therefore, I’m not too sure I would want to meet it again. It’s big, it’s tasty and I’d better keep it at bay.
It’s another moose in a protein flapjack family. The other one we reviewed, Golden Syrup, turned ou to be fairly OK. And pretty BIG too, having as much as 453 kcal. Or even more. And it looks like this one is pretty similar to that, pretty BIG and pretty HUUUGE as well. This is Muscle Moose The Big Protein Flapjack Mixed Berry.
All right, so how about the aroma of this protein flapjack? Well, there’s not many mixed berries in it. Instead, you get a fragrance of sweet oats. And that’s it. Still, it’s not too bad, honestly. A really, really soft flapjack is exceptionally comfortable to bite into it. It’s also just a bit chewy and sticky. And slightly crispy. Pretty nice.
Not too bad, not too flavourish, though.
This Muscle Moose protein flapjack is not too amazing. It has oaty flavour with an addition of raisins and mixed berries (in this order). Also, there’s a touch of sourish scent you can taste on your tongue. And it’s not that bad overall after all. Primarily, it’s middling sweet. However, I wouldn’t call it a satisfying one.
Do I want another serving of this Muscle Moose protein flapjack straight after the first one? Not actually. It was big, it was pretty fattish and not too flavourish. Therefore, one is perfectly fine for me.
When it comes to macros, there’s the same situation as with a Golden Syrup flavour. This protein flapjack was supposed to weigh 100g. But it turned out it’s much BIGGER than that. It landed at more than 123g, which means more than 20% than it should be. So once you have a look at its macros, then feel free to add more than 20% to these HUUUGE macros anyway.
So, the macros of this protein flapjack look like that. One serving of it, 100g, has 443 kcal, 22g of fat, 45g of carbs and only 15g of protein. Well… The ingredients list contains margarine/palm oil and golden syrup. Therefore, it’s nothing good for sure.
And the question regarding the finest protein flapjack on the go title for that snack is just a joke here.
THE BIG FLAPJACK. With huge macros.
Let’s make THE BIG FLAPJACK with a huuuge macros that is somewhat OK-ish in taste – what could go wrong? And I say ‘a lot’. This Muscle Moose The Big Protein Flapjack Mixed Berry is an average flapjack in the taste, bad in macros and terrible bad in reality, as it weighs more than 123g. And these are the reasons why you shouldn’t worry about it at all.
Will I ever go back to this Muscle Moose protein bar? I won’t. But if you’d want to try a not too bad protein bar from this maker, then this might be something for you.
