Protein bars, protein squares, protein bites and so on. And protein… fingers. It looks like Muscle Moose wants to find its identity. Too bad it does it with a name, not with a flavour in this case.
The previous Beaver Bar of Choc Caramel flavour scored overall not bad 6.7/10 pts. With a pretty nice taste and a pleasant overall experience, it was well worth this score. However, this Muscle Moose Beaver Bar White Chocolate Flavour bar is not as good as that. And honestly, it’s not anything you should worry about. It’s just OK-ish and that’s it. Sorry, not sorry.
The smell of this protein bar resembles white chocolate, although it’s much, much softer. It’s somewhat sweetish, for sure, but I wouldn’t say it’s inviting in any way. It’s OK and nothing more. A slightly tough on the outside, this protein bar is nicely soft on the inside. That means no problem with biting into it. Also, it’s texture is really OK, as it’s just a bit chewy and barely sticky. Also, I can’t say anything wrong about its moistness – it’s good, it’s decently good.
A pretty bland, but still somewhat sweet bar. Is it enough?
It starts with a sweetish flavour; not too intense, not too flavourish. There’s also a flavour of white chocolate in it, but it’s way too bland – this is nothing you’d expect from white chocolate. The reason might be it’s just a white chocolate flavour coating. Also, there’s a barely detectable touch of bitterness here, but many may say they don’t detect it. And that’s OK, as it doesn’t do any harm to the flavour of this bar. Overall, this bar is not too bad in taste. However, I can’t say it’s satisfying in any way.
Do I want another serving of this Beaver Bar White Chocolate bar right after the first one? Not much. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t anything special at the same time.
Macro wise it’s pretty good. A 60g bar has 220 kcal, 7.8g of fat, 16.2g of carbs (of which 2.4g of sugar) and 20.4g of protein. The ingredients list ‘only’ contains palm oil. And I think it’s still too much to say it’s even OK.
It’s not too bad protein bar for sure. But it lacks its sharpness.
Muscle Moose Beaver Bar White Chocolate Flavour Protein Fingers is a pretty OK-ish protein bar. It has a good texture, pretty good macros and the overall expression is just right. However, at the same time, it lacks that sharpness (mainly in taste), that kind of a unique thinge that would make an expression of ‘I want to come back to you’.
Will I ever go back to this Beaver Bar White Chocolate? I don’t think so (twice). It’s not a bad bar. And if I bought it for £1.50, then it would not be a disaster. However, many competitors are having ‘a bit’ better propositions when it comes to white chocolate, like this or this.
