This is a very generous Birthday Cake (flavour) in the form of a protein bar. Although I’m not too sure I’d want to eat more than a single courtesy serving of it. Hence, it’s not so brilliant after all.
At least not as brilliant as the other flavour from this range, Magnificent Millionaires Shortbread. Or Really Rocky Road flavour that is really so indeed. On the other hand, Crumblin’ Cookies & Cream flavour was not so spectacular, being the worst overall out of this range. How could they do it so bad? Anyway, now let’s have a look if there’s a reason to celebrate this Macro Munch High Protein Bar Brilliant Birthday Cake Flavour. Because I’m not too sure about it.
This Birthday party starts pretty inviting, as this bar smells pretty nice and delicious. It’s not extremely aromatic, but it’s good enough to tune you in a good party mood. In other words, it’s somewhat aromatic, sweet and appetising. A pretty softish on the outside, this bar is soft on the inside. Also, it’s middling chewy and a bit sticky. But again, it’s still pretty comfortable to eat and no one should have any problem with celebrating this Birthday. Particularly, it’s pretty moist too.
A generous birthday
It’s a tasty Birthday Cake protein bar. At least at the beginning. It has a real birthday cake flavour – it’s aromatic, sweet (actually, it’s decently sweet, nearly oversweet) and it might be pretty tempting for many. Also, the sprinkles on the top of the bar crunch happily. That’s nice. However, there’s also a slight, barely detectable touch of bitterness in this cake. And, unfortunately, it affects its sweetness a bit. As a result of that, this protein bar is sweet and tasty, but I felt it lacks that fulfilment and enjoyment of celebration. Or am I just too old to care about birthday celebration? Anyway, I didn’t find it a satisfying protein bar. It was sweet and somewhat tasty after all, but still not satisfying.
Do I want to celebrate this Macro Munch Birthday Cake protein bar right after the first one? Not actually. It wasn’t too exciting either enjoying. Therefore, one
bar serving is perfectly enough for me.
When it comes to macros, it’s a really generous Birthday Cake bar. In theory, this bar weighs 62g and it delivers 233 kcal, 8.7g of fat, 16.7g of carbs (including a modest 2.9g of sugar) and 20g of protein. In fact, instead of 62g, this bar weighs 83.6g, which is 1/3 more than it should! It’s pretty generous, isn’t it?
And you could think it’s not bad. Eventually, you paid for 62g, but you get more than 83g. But I guess it’s not the best option if you’re calorie conscious person. At the end of the day, instead of the macros I mentioned initially, you get much more than that. Therefore, it might not fit your macros after all.
Let’s stop for a moment at the ingredients list. It’s really long and it’s full of the ingredients we don’t like. It contains added sugar, palm oil and glucose syrup. And sometimes it doesn’t matter much, especially when the bar is delicious and well worth to turn a blind eye to it. However, that’s not the case here.
To sum up, this can’t be the finest protein bar on the go. Period.
A generous, but not too spectacular either exciting Birthday Cake bar.
Macro Munch High Protein Bar Brilliant Birthday Cake Flavour wants to make it bold. Loads of flavour (that could be better), ease of celebrating (that is not too bad) and a big load (more than 83g instead of 62g). And I can understand it. Seriously. But, on the other hand, I can’t understand why it went so wrong? Eventually, there are many other better Birthday Cake protein bars out there.
Will I ever go back to this Macro Munch Birthday Cake bar? I will not. It’s not that bad for sure. But there are too many issues to celebrate it (or it) with peace of mind. Instead of that, I’d go to celebrate it like this or this.
