Hello, cheaters! I’m (not too) glad you’re back. Actually, what for? Your another protein cookie is not too spectacular. But that’s not a surprise here, seriously.
Do you know why I’m not the greatest fan of Lenny and Larry’s protein cookies? No, not because they all could be tastier, indeed. What I don’t like more than that is their description on the package. They say the entire cookie contains 16g of protein and 10g of fibre. The thing is, however, these numbers regard… two servings. In other words, one cookie is actually two servings. How unfair is that? This is Lenny & Larry’s The Complete Cookie Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip protein cookie.
All right, forget about these trivia. This The Complete Cookie is not astonishing when it comes to its smell. Pea protein is the thing you’ll detect here the most. There is also an aroma of chocolate chip that tries to make its way to your nose, but it’s barely detectable. How about peanut butter scent? Naaah, not here. Anyway, this protein cookie is really soft both on the outside and inside. So no worries, no any issue with biting into it here. Also, this cookie is slightly chewy and a bit sticky. But still, it’s pretty comfortable to eat. Too bad it’s not like that in the taste.
Most likely, it won’t be your comfort protein snack.
Well, it’s hard to call it any kind of consternation, but this protein cookie is nothing special when it comes to its taste. There’s a lot of pea protein in the flavour of it. And some of the sweet chocolate chips flavour too. Also, there’s a bit of peanut butter aroma, but I wouldn’t mind have it more intense. Therefore, the flavour of this protein cookie could be balanced better, indeed. The cookie itself is not too sweet. And this is the reason it’s not satisfying.
Do I want another serving of this Lenny & Larry’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip protein cookie after the first one? Well, after the first serving there’s still half a cookie left, but somehow I wasn’t too interested in that, honestly.
When it comes to macros… Well, this is the thing. If you want to have the entire cookie, then you want two servings of it. But let’s have a look at the single serving, I mean half the cookie. The 57g serving has 220 kcal, 11g of fat, 29g of carbs (including 12g of sugar) and a miserable amount of 8g of protein. So to get 16g of protein, as mentioned on the packaging of it, you have to eat two servings of this cookie which means 440 kcal(!), 22g of fat and 58g of carbs. Well, it doesn’t sound too fit. The ingredients list is not too spectacular too, as it contains palm margarine(!), added sugar, cane sugar and invert sugar.
And the question regarding being the finest protein cookie on the go… Ekhm, this question doesn’t make any sense here.
Lenny & Larry’s Lousy and Lying not-so-Complete protein cookie.
All right, Lenny & Larry. As long as you won’t make it a clear what your protein cookie is, you won’t get my attention. Nonetheless, you’ll get honest reviews of your cookies for sure. And this one goes like above. In a word, this protein cookie is not that terrible in taste, but it could be much, much better when it comes to the ingredients. And macros as well. And the smell probably too.
Will I ever go back to this Lenny & Larry’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip protein cookie? I won’t. If I wanted to have a tasty and healthy protein cookie, then I’d go for this one. And if I wanted to have it instead of a regular meal, then I’d prefer to skip it. Sorry.
