Many things in this protein bar are good or decently good for sure. But I wouldn’t say it has ‘new improved taste’. I mean, it might be new and improved, but I wouldn’t go so far to say it’s good and tasty.
We had this Fulfil White Chocolate & Cookie Dough Vitamin & Protein Bar a while ago and I wasn’t overly impressed with it. Well, it’s actually scored pretty low, landing at 5.6/10 pts. In a word, it was nothing you should bother. Things have slightly changed since then, our score criteria were improved and now it scores much higher. Despite that, it doesn’t mean you should bother it anyway.
It smells really nice, nearly as good as white chocolate cookie dough. Hence, if you like this kind of indulgence, then it might be really tempting for you. Especially, its texture is good. The bar is somewhat softish with a slightly thick interior, but still, there’s no problem with biting into it and eat. Also, it’s middling chewy and sticky, but it’s not a problem here at all. Moistness? Also, nothing to complain about it. Overall, it’s good, nothing to be worried about.
New improved taste? Ermm, are we talking about the same protein bar?
Because I can’t see any difference here. Yes, there’s easily detectable white chocolate flavour in this protein bar. And there’s a bit of cookie dough flavour, too. However, the latter tastes like it was well burned, indeed. It’s bitterish and it lacks that devilish sweetness in it. It’s definitely not exciting. Anyway, this Fulfil bar is middling sweet, but due to its not-so-improved flavour, it will not make its way as a sweet and satisfying protein snack.
Would I want to have another of this Fulfil protein bar right after the first one? Not much at all.
Macros wise, it’s always a bright side of Fulfil protein bars. This 55g packs 198kcal, 20g (36%) of protein and only 1.9g of (no added) sugar. Also, the ingredients list is not too short, but it lacks palm oil and syrup. More than that, it contains 9 vitamins and that’s a good thing for sure. The downside here is, however, they only cover 30% of your recommended intake and it’s much lower than 100% they used to in the past.
New, improved taste? Not much. As long as you still like bitterish, overburnt cookie flavour.
It’s been a while since we met last time. And I am sure not much has changed since then. It’s still a solid protein bar when it comes to smell, macros and ingredients. And it’s still not as tasty as it could be. This Fulfil White Chocolate & Cookie Dough Vitamin & Protein Bar, despite having supposedly ‘New Improved Taste’ is basically the same as it was before. And the only thing it scored much higher than before is we have improved our scoring criteria in the meantime.
Would I buy it again? I still would NOT. You should try a bit harder, Fulfil.
