It’s not the best option for feeding your adventure. But it has an interesting taste though. Too bad there’s no white chocolate flavour in this BAR. Well, not every adventure is the most exciting one.
It must be a family run business, these CLIF BARS. As if you look closely, there’s a statement on the package of this bar. It goes something like ‘CLIF Bar is named after my father, Clifford, my childhood hero and companion throughout the Sierra Nevada mountains. – Gary, founder & owner’. And as truly touching and warming that story is, I guess it would be better for Gary to have his father still by his side. Maybe he could use a hero’s wisdom to make these CLIF Bars a bit better, including this one?
All right, I’m sorry if someone felt disturbed here. But it’s going to be another CLIF Bar that could be much better than it is. The previous one we tested and reviewed, Chocolate Chip flavour, turned out to be only ‘mediocre’. This one is a bit better, a ‘fair’ one, but it’s still far from the TOP ones, like High5 Energy Bar Berry.
Anyway, let’s get to the clue, I mean the very first impressions of this CLIF Bar White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Flavour Energy Bar. Here they are. And they’re not the best. Although it looks impressive, it doesn’t smell spectacular. Rather than that, there are only macadamia nuts in its scent and there’s nowhere white chocolate to be found. That’s why its aroma is bitterish a bit, not being inviting at the same time. Toughish form the outside, this energy bar is, for a change, softish inside. It shouldn’t be a problem to bite into it. However, it’s noticeable chewy and it tries to stick to the teeth a bit. It’s also a bit dryish, so that a sip may be required now and then.
The taste of this energy booster is not anything worth to praise.
There are some macadamia nuts, along with white chocolate. Or rather a bit of it, as its nearly not detectable at all. Instead of that, there’s just a sweet bit. And that’s it. No white chocolate per se. Too bad, as it could be an exciting composition. Apparently, we won’t get it here. Overall, this snack os somewhat sweetish, but not truly sweet. Therefore, there’s no chance it’ll make its way as a delicious and satisfying snack. And this is what we expect from this kind of treats, right?
That being said, I’m not fancy another serving after the first one. It’s not that bad. It’s really OK. But it’s still not too much to impress me. And I assume not only me.
Furthermore, the macros of this bar are something that could be done better. As this is an energy bar, we expect pure energy out of it. And again, it’s not what we’ll get here. A 68g of a bar has 279 kcal, a largish 7.8g of fat, an ideal 42g of carbs, but again, there’s too much of protein in the amount of 9g. Also, the ingredients list could be better, as there are cane syrup and added sugar. And that’s the end of the adventure called ‘macros and ingredients’.
This department won’t get any title from us, not telling about the finest energy bar on the go one.
An adventure of this energy bar went to the end. Too early.
CLIF Bar White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Flavour Energy Bar could be a great bar. Especially that combination of tastes is so rare. But something went wrong here, some kind of accident, and we need to end it up here. To sum up. All right smell, an OK taste, mediocre macros and nearly bad ingredients. Despite that, the overall experience is not too bad. But I guess we won’t keep these average adventures in our minds too long, right?
As a result of that, there are no chances I will go back to this energy bar in the future. It wasn’t too bad. But I believe there are still better adventures to experience in the near future.
