If it’s what my breakfast is supposed to be, then I’d go without it. This bar is not bad, but at the same time, it’s not too sweet or satisfying. And I love to start the day the way I like, i.e. with something sweet.
This is another Bounce Breakfast bar we review. The other one, Peanut Butter, turned out to be not the best start of the day for me. And it looks like there’s another one from the same range that tries to be a starter. I wouldn’t mind it, actually, but this bar is not the best option to start any day. And this is what Bounce Breakfast Red Berry High Fibre Protein Bar is like.
If I had to say anything about this protein bar looking at it only by its smell, then the best I could do would be having the whole box of them. This snack smells lovely with its berry scent being intense and appealing. The bar itself is really soft on the outside, being just a bit less so on the inside. Also, this bar is pretty moist. That means it’s quite comfortable to bite into it. And it would be perfect when it comes to ease of eating if it only wasn’t decently chewy and noticeably sticky. And this is the reason it’s better to have a sip while eating it.
A very berry bar, but not too sweet nor satisfying.
This Bounce protein bar tastes not that bad. There are berries easily detectable with their specific acidulous taste, but they’re bland. They’re combined with crunchy nuts, but these are not too flavourish. Also, you can easily taste sweetness, but it’s more like candy sweetness than anything you know from the chocolate-like or sweet bars. That makes this bar sweet, but not too sweet. And not satisfying too. That’s why I’m not sure this is the way I’d like to start my day.
Am I fancy another serving of this Bounce Red Berry breakfast bar after the first one? Not actually. I’m not the greatest fan of sweet treats that are not purely sweet and satisfying.
And again, this is a tiny bar and it has somewhat small macros. A 45g bar has 165 kcal, 6.8g of fat, 18g of carbs (including 8g of sugar) and only 9.2g of protein. And they call it ‘balanced nutrition’ or ‘protein bar’. Well… I’d rather say so about the ingredients of this bar which are impressing. There is no sugar, no palm oil and no syrups. And that’s undoubtedly something worth mentioning here.
A taste that could be better and slightly low macros mean it’s pretty far from this protein bar to be the finest protein bar on the go.
Not so very red berry. Sorry.
Bounce Breakfast Red Berry High Fibre Protein Bar wants to steal your morning show. But it’s far from being able to do so. It’s not that it’s a terrible protein bar. But this is not what I could imagine as my nutritionally balanced, tasty and satisfying morning.
Will I ever start my day with this protein bar again? No chances for that. Even considering it costs £1 or even less. Because life is too short to start your day this way.
