A slightly disappointing 2 Protein Pieces from Battle Bites. They are not too bad after all, but I expected much more than that.
This flavour of 2 Protein Pieces ruined it all. Before these, this range of protein snack could be one of the most reliable ones. In other words, you could pick any of them and most likely you wouldn’t go wrong. Just look at these flavours that scored overall really high: Frosted Carrot Cake 7.3/10 pts, Choc Coconut 7.2/10 pts or Birthday Cake with 7.0/10 pts. And everything would be perfect here, but Battle Bites 2 Protein Pieces Chocolate Caramel with Fudge Crumb Topping was disappointing for me. And I’m going to tell you why I think so.
It’s not that these 2 Protein Pieces don’t smell good. But with the flavour of chocolate caramel, I expected both to be decently noticeable. But they’re not. There’s a chocolate aroma in them, but no caramel whiff to be found. Therefore, it’s not too inviting. A pretty tough on the outside (it’s nothing to be expected!), these pieces are only softish on the inside. They’re not too comfortable to bite into, too, but it’s far from being any kind of struggle for sure. Still, these pretty moist snacks are not too troublesome when it comes to their texture.
Pretty tasty protein pieces with a condensed sweetness in.
Flavour-wise, these protein pieces are pretty nice. There are chocolate and caramel flavours easily detectable and flavourish. And they’re decently sweet (still, not too sweet). However, that sweetness comes from sweeteners. Hence it’s condensed. And it gives these pieces a slight aftertaste of it. That makes this snack sweet, but slightly flat. It lacks richness in taste. Therefore, it was a bit disappointing for me and not too satisfying.
Am I fancy another serving of these Battle Bites 2 Protein Pieces right after the first two ones? Not actually. They were OK-ish, but nothing more than that.
When it comes to macros, there’s nothing to be ashamed of. Two pieces of 62g all together have 227 kcal, 8.7g of fat, 15.5g of carbs (of which only 2.9g of sugar) and 20g of protein. Not too bad. However, the ingredients list is sooo looong and it contains added sugar, palm oil, glucose syrup, golden syrup and who knows what else.
Therefore, forget about calling it the finest protein bar on the go.
Sweet, somewhat tasty and slightly unsatisfying.
Battle Bites 2 Protein Pieces Chocolate Caramel are only OK-ish. That’s it and nothing more. There are many other pieces from this range that are much better than that. Anyway, I’d want it to be more flavourish and having some kind of depth in flavour. And not so condensed sweet.
Will I ever go back to these 2 Protein Pieces in the future? I’d rather not. There are better options on the market, not only in this range for sure. And I’ll go for them, not for this one.
