It’s October. So Christmas is just around the corner. Therefore, I couldn’t miss that limited (lol!) flavour of 2 Protein Pieces from Battle Bites. And you know what? I could eat them all year round.
All right, it’s the middle of October while I’m writing this review. But you know what? I can’t wait for Christmas (as always!). And this flavour gets me much closer to it. Yay! And as I still laugh at ‘limited edition’ of any kind of food, this time I don’t. All of that, because of this flavour that is pretty nice composed and it reminds me of my favourite time of the year. Anyway, this is Battle Bites 2 Protein Pieces Candy Cane protein bar. Here we go!
These protein pieces have a pretty pleasant aroma. There’s a whiff of mint in them, but I wouldn’t mind have it a bit more intense. Still, it’s pretty inviting and appealing. What is less than that, however, is the texture of this bar. It’s slightly toughish on the outside, being just some kind of softish on the inside. It’s not that it’s difficult to bite into it, but it could be a bit more effortless really. Also, this bar is decently chewy, but only a bit sticky. And it’s moistness is reasonably good.
Not overminty. And I am sweet on it.
This should be a benchmark for mint flavoured protein bars makers. This protein bar has a perfect composition of mint flavour. It’s not too strong, either overwhelming. Rather than that, it’s pretty mild, but at the same time, it’s somewhat deep and pretty aromatic. It’s superbly balanced, giving you a delightful and pleasant feeling of mint spice. It’s subtle and delicate, leaving your taste buds in calm and quiet. Add to that a whiff of sweetness and you get a lovely and enjoyable flavour. In a word, the flavour of this protein bar is nice, relaxing and satisfying.
Do I want another serving of this Battle Bites protein bar right after the first one? I’m not too sure about it. What I’m sure, however, is I have had a great time eating it.
Macros wise it’s a standard for 2 Protein Pieces. Two of them, which is one serving, has 226 kcal, 8.06g of fat, 15.5g of carbs (including 3g of sugar) and 20.5g of protein. And 8.6g of fibre. Not that bad. The ingredients list is, though. It’s really long and it contains added sugar, palm oil and glucose syrup.
Although it’s the middle of October, Christmas is nearly there already.
Battle Bites 2 Protein Pieces Candy Cane is an example of a time-machine-like sweet. Thanks to its impressing flavour, it may get you closer to Christmas time. It got me. Anyway, it’s a tasty, well balanced and pretty macro reasonable protein snack. The only flaw here is it could be a bit more comfortable to eat. And it could have better ingredients. But still, this is most likely one of the best, if not the best, mint flavoured protein bar out there.
Will I ever go back to this Battle Bites protein bar? It’s not perfect, or even nearly perfect for sure. However, if I’m after a tasty and well-balanced mint flavour, this is the protein bar I will go for. Even considering its pretty long ingredients list.
