This is an average protein bar with not so average ingredients. In other words, I could eat it now and then, but these ingredients put me off. Too bad.
Just a quick reminder. Aptonia is not-so-new, but
Don’t expect any spectacular effects when it comes to the smell of this protein bar. There is a bit of vanilla and caramel aromas in it, but they both are way too bland to make any spectacular effect and make this bar inviting. A pretty softish on the outside, this protein snack is on a par on the inside. This means it’s not too difficult to bite into it. Also, it’s just a bit chewy and sticky. But still, it’s pretty comfortable to eat. Also, its moistness is on the spot. As a result of that, a pre-eating experience of this bar is pretty good. Nothing to complain about here for sure.
This protein bar is OK.
Yes, I know. It’s the least accurate definition of this protein bar. But it’s hard to say anything else about it, as it’s pretty OK in its taste. There are both flavours, vanilla and caramel, detectable here. They are well balanced, although they both could be a bit more intense. Also, this bar is somewhat sweet, but it’s definitely not too sweet. Overall, it’s pretty pleasant and some may find it a satisfying one.
So the question is, do I want another serving of this Aptonia Vanilla Caramel protein bar after the first one? Not actually. It was OK and it was somewhat tasty. But at the same time, it was not that exciting to make me fancy another one straight away.
When it comes to macros, it’s not too bad either. A 40g bar only has 167 kcal, 6.7g of fat, 16g of carbs (of which 9.7 g of sugar) and a modest amount of 12g of protein. It’s just OK-ish. The ingredients list, however, could be much, much better. It contains added sugar, palm fat, glucose syrup and
That means here we’ve got too many reasons not to give this protein bar the title of the finest protein bar on the go.
An average protein bar. With not so ordinary, inferior ingredients.
Aptonia After Sport Protein Bar Crunchy Vanilla Caramel Flavour is an OK-ish protein snack. It’s not too flavourish, it’s not too spectacular and I wasn’t able to eat two of them in one sitting. Add to that inferior ingredients and you’ll get something you don’t have to worry about at all.
Will I ever go back to this Aptonia protein bar? I don’t think so. It’s just an average protein bar. And life is too short to eat ordinary protein anything.
