Although it has more sugar than protein, it can still be considered as a not too bad proteinish bar. Not bad for a snack, but not the perfect as a protein bar. Still, worth to give it a try.
It’s not always all about protein to carbs or sugar ratio. Sometimes, the bar can have not perfect macros, but it still has THAT something. Something that says ‘I’ll get back to you’. Like some of the Whipped Bites from Optimum Nutrition. And that’s a similar situation here. This Aptonia After Sport Protein Bar Chocolate Flavour is not perfect in its macros. But at the same time, it’s delicious and well worth to give it a try. So that’s what I’m doing here.
Don’t be despair by the not too spectacular first impression of this protein bar. Its fragrance is just OK. The chocolate flavour is detectable, but it could be much more intense for sure. Still, it’s inviting, so it’s not a problem though. Anyway, a not too softish on the outside, this protein bar is just so-so when it comes to its texture. It could be a bit more comfortable to bite into it, but again – it shouldn’t be a big issue here. Also, this snack is not too chewy and sticky. In a word, it offers a pretty good and satisfying pre-eating experience.
A load of chocolate, a load of taste. Pretty nice.
This Aptonia bar is really nice when it comes to the flavour. It’s pleasantly chocolaty and somewhat rich in flavour. Also, some roasted cocoa beans pieces happily crunch. More than that, there’s no weird aroma or aftertaste in it. How about sweetness? It’s on the spot – it’s sweet, but not too sweet. And I would say it’s nicely satisfying.
Am I fancy another serving of this Aptonia protein bar right after the first one? I am! It’s tasty, it’s flavourish and it’s satisfying. Therefore, can I have another one, please?
Oh, the macros. Although it’s pretty easy to eat more than one serving of this protein bar right after the first once, its macros are not the best. A pretty tiny bar of 40g has 156 kcal, 4.4g of fat, 18.8g of carbs (of which a pretty much of 11.2g of sugar) and only 10g of protein. Well, it could be much better here. On a par with the ingredients. It contains added sugar, glucose-fructose syrup and glucose syrup.
And although it’s a pretty tasty protein bar, it can’t be the finest protein bar on the go for sure.
A lovely and tasty snack. With a bit of worse macros.
Aptonia After Sport Protein Bar Chocolate Flavour is a pretty nice proteinish bar. It’s tasty, it’s flavourish and it’s easy to eat more than one in one sitting (it’s being sold in 5-packs, so be careful!). On the other hand, its macros and ingredients are not perfect. But sometimes it doesn’t matter at all.
Will I ever go back to this Aptonia protein bar? I will. And it won’t be so difficult, as it’s being sold in 5-packs. It costs £3.99, so a single bar only is 80p. Pretty sweet, isn’t it?
