This protein bar is so vague it’s really hard to indulge in it. Moreover, it’s basically impossible to find at least one feature this bar would be at least very good at. Therefore…
It went really quick. Birthday Cake flavoured protein bar from this Indulgence range turned out to be not only not too charming in its appearance (
its review to be up soon! it’s already here). It was not too exciting too, although it had sooo exciting flavour. And now, another Indulgence protein bar, White Chocolate Salted Caramel flavour, is nothing too significant. It’s just a protein bar you can easily skip and carry on. And no, don’t buy a whole box of it, as it’s not worth it at all.
All right. As we’ve started with a quick summary, now it’s time for a proper review. No, this protein bar’s fragrance won’t make you like ‘I need it right now’. Although white choc and salted caramel flavours are detectable, they both are not too intense. Actually, they’re pretty bland and ’empty’. Therefore, this snack is neither inviting or repellent. This is nothing you’d expect from an indulgence-anything, right? A pretty tough on the outside, this bar is softish and slightly crispy inside. And it’s OK when it comes to ease of eating. It’s also not chewy and barely sticky. And pretty OK when it comes to its moistness.
A pretty bland in taste. And not too sweet. Or satisfying.
This white choc salted caramel flavour protein bar is not too tasty. Yes, there are both flavours detectable. But again, they’re not too intense, pretty bland and ’empty’. It seems to be a bit sweetish, but it’s not in fact. And although both flavours are balanced not too bad, the overall feeling is more like the aftertaste of these two flavours instead of themselves. Like you could have in your mouth after eating a proper snack of this taste. And it’s pretty sad. Anyway, this protein bar is not too sweet, not telling a satisfying one. How to indulge in it then?
Do I want another serving of this Indulgence white choc salted caramel flavour bar after the first one? Not at all. It was somewhat OK-ish (at most), but that’s it. Therefore, one serving of it is enough for me.
Macro wise, it’s all about the precision (which doesn’t make any sense at all). A 50g bar has 198 kcal, 9.03g of fat, 17.69g of carbs (including 2.03g of sugar) and 15.16g of protein. W.e.l.l., it’s not too bad, but it could be better indeed. The ingredients list is not too long and it doesn’t contain added sugar, palm fat or syrups. Not bad.
Forget about the numbers. The taste of this protein bar alone is a clear sign it can’t be the finest protein bar on the go. And it’s not.
It’s pretty hard to indulge in this protein bar.
Applied Nutrition Indulgence White Choc Salted Caramel Flavour High Protein Low Sugar Bar. A pretty long name. And all of that for nothing. It’s hard to point at least one important feature this protein snack is very good at. Taste? Nope. Macros? Nope. Ingredients? Also nope. Therefore, well, it’s not the best protein bar on the market.
Will I ever go back to this Indulgence protein bar? No way. It costs the same as the other protein bars. And I can tell you at least ten other of them that are much, much better than it. Well, I won’t indulge in it anymore. Sorry.
