If you’re all about the flavour, then this bar is pretty close to being perfect in this matter. And that’s it, as other aspects of it are so-so, to say it as mildly as I can. And 27g of protein doesn’t mean much here, as it’s being accompanying by as much as 21g of sugar. Well…
This protein bar is coming from Germany, but it’s available online in the UK too. Therefore, seeing such a tasty combination of flavours, caramel and hazelnut, I couldn’t resist. And there it is, All Stars Muscle Protein Bar Crunchy Caramel Hazelnut that could be a benchmark for this specific flavour. Too bad it’s not so good in other aspects. Therefore, it’s just a curiosity on the protein bars market.
This protein bar will not captivate you with its smell. There’s only a touch of chocolate and caramel whiff in it. And it’s hard to say it’s inviting in any way. A pretty similar thing regards its texture. This protein snack is really tough on the outside, being just a bit softish on the inside. However, it’s still decently uncomfortable and unpleasant to bite into it. And although it’s only middling chewy and just slightly sticky, it doesn’t change my pre-eating experience of this bar. Oh, it’s pretty moist, but again – it doesn’t mean anything considering its poor texture.
This is an excellent taste of caramel and hazelnut!
Call me crazy, but I fell in love with this spectacular flavour. Both aromas are strong, rich and effortlessly detectable. They’re superbly balanced, making this bar highly palatable, tasty and delicious. Also, the bar is pleasantly sweet, but it’s definitely not too sweet – you won’t get oversweet with it for sure. Also, there’s no weird aroma or aftertaste, so you can enjoy its taste fully. And, of course, this protein bar is a highly satisfying one.
Do I want another serving of this Muscle Protein Bar right after the first one? I would definitely want it! However, the texture of this bar is terrible and I don’t like struggling with my food. Hence, one serving is totally enough for me.
Macros wise it’s nothing you’d want to be aware of. This bar is pretty hefty at 80g, it’s also not too lean. One serving means extra 336 kcal to your intake, including 13g of fat, 26g of carbs (with a way too much of 21g of sugar!) and a pretty nice 27g of protein. However, the ingredients list is terrible, with added sugar, vegetable fat, glucose syrup and invert sugar syrup in it. Well, that doesn’t sound good.
Great flavour. Served in a poor and distressful way. Boo.
All Stars Muscle Protein Bar Crunchy Caramel Hazelnut is a great bar when it comes to its flavour. It’s flavourish, it’s rich, and it was balanced decently well. Aaaaand… that’s it. Other aspects of it are pretty poor, starting with the terrible texture, going through macros and ending up with ingredients. Hence, it’s pretty apparent this protein bar is only a curiosity, not a real and big player on the market.
Will I ever go back to this Muscle protein bar? I would love to, as it’s great in its flavour. However, I don’t like struggling with my food and this is the reason I’ll skip it next time.
